Daimler has committed to carbon neutral car production as from 2022 onwards to contribute its share to climate change mitigation. One important measure is increasing the share of electricity supplied from renewable energy sources. By investing in carefully selected carbon offset projects, Daimler wants to compensate for those GHG emissions under Scope 1 and 2 that cannot yet be avoided.

In this context, UPM has been asked to provide technical advisory support related to Daimler’s already ongoing carbon offset tender to enable Daimler to compile a quality carbon offset project portfolio according to Daimler’s needs and requirements.
