UPM is very proud to inform that GS VERs from UPM’s Sichuan Rural Poor-Household Biogas Development Programme (GS1239) have been rated by Calyx Global with a tier 1 GHG rating on its new 8-point scale ranging from AAA to D and an SDG rating of 4+ on a 5-point scale ranging from 1+ to 5+, with 5+ being the highest quality.

As you can see in Calyx Global’s blog post, dated March 13, 2025, commenting the latest ICVCM CCP labelling decision, Calyx Global has rated over 200 cookstove and biodigester projects so far, and, as per diagram “Rating distribution of cookstoves and household biodigester projects”, UPM’s Sichuan Household Biogas PoA figures among the few with a tier 1 GHG rating.
